Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

I got a splinter of wood stuck in my throat while eating at a coney island. It came off of chicken kebob. I had to go to the hospital to remove it. Should I contact a lawyer or should I go to the restaurant to complain first.

I guess the first thing I'd have to ask is if you were eating the chicken kabob? If so, were you the one to remove the chicken from the stick? If so, you may have too much personal responsibility to allow a recovery. The fact that the incident happened in and of itself, is not enough to recover. There has to be something wrong with the stick. The splintering of the wood is too foreseeable to say the restaurant was responsible. William S. Stern
