Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Without my Signature

Once in awhile, I will see an ad in the classifieds that reads ''I am not responsible for debts incurred without my own signature''. What does this mean? Why do people place these ads? Is the ad enough to protect oneself? What other steps might be necessary? Thanks for your time!!!

Re: Without my Signature

Placing an ad in the newspaper with that language has no legal significance. Such ads are likely placed by people who are acting on some urban myth believing that the ad will somehow protect their credit or rights.

It does not.
