Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Custody Evaluation/Past Domestic Violence

I recently was summoned by my child's father (never married him) with motion for adjudication, custody, visitation etc. He made up affidavits with all kinds of lies about me, turning the story around re: our relationship. Making me look like I emotionally abused him and kept the child from him etc. 2 years ago, when my baby was only 3mo's old, he attacked me from behind in my home, choking me and I feel tried to kill me. I have had OFP's in place (not full orders)and he recently violated the order and was cited and turned into the City Attorney for them to prosecute him. The judge has ordered a custody evaluation for us re: our child, I was awarded temporary, legal, physical custody until this is completed. The OFP was served just after the custody hearing and the judge said to maintain Status Quo with visitation. I am going to court tomorrow for a modification of my OFP to a full order. Can I somehow change or limit his visitation schedule with the order since it was served on him after the custody hearing? He is represented and I am not at this point (in court).

Any lawyer who tries to advise you on law guru, with that complicated a fact situation, is a fool; as are you for doing this without a lawyer.
