Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota
My ex is trying to "railroad" me into accepting a small amount of child support. Is it harrassment? I have recieved about 50 texts from him in the past week trying to get me to accept $500 per month for one child for the next 12 years (until she turns 18). He told me he will soon be starting a new job making $30 or more per hour (currently making $12 per hour). He feels he shouldn't have to pay any more money for support. I told him that the projected monthly amount of $683 sounds fair to me. He has escalated his behaviors, accused me "of beating our child because she doesn't generate me enough income", amount other various things (God will judge me, I'm a greedy b****, etc.). He is being rediculous at this point and threatens he will take me to court claiming I abuse our daughter. He hasn't threatened bodily harm but I really don't know what he has up his sleeve. I have saved the texts, but the police won't officially document it unless I agree to file harrassment charges.
To note: Our daughter is now 6 years old. I recieved $0 from him for 5 years, no diapers, no financial help from him. I have sole legal and physical custody and he has no visitation rights. I have not allowed him to take her for a week or two (his request) this summer and she didn't even know him until she was nearly 5 years old (his choice). He isn't consistent in calling or contacting her and seems to do so "on his own time".

If unwanted contact continues, you can seek a harassment restraining order. However, that requires that you clearly communicate that no more messages are appreciated and that you do not respond in kkind which solicits additional messages. Any threats of violence would also support a restraining order.
