Utilties companies

A local utiliy company ruptured our sewr line while installing a new gas line

we were without the use of our batrooms etc. for almost a month, They have flatly refuse to cover any damgaes except for repairing our sewer line. We have spent over $2000.00 during that time. Can we collect damages from the company?

I don't know why not. It sounds like a conciliation court claim to me. I would have to know more about what kind of damages the $2,000 represents; but if it is directly caused by the negligence of the gas company - such as laundramat costs and trips to a motel to shower, etc., I would think you can make it stick.

It might be a good idea to find a lawyer to help you with the claim. You can probably find someone who would charge less than $500.
