Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Vacation carryover after a company has been sold

my father in law has worked for a company for the past 25 years. just recently the company he worked for was sold to a new owner. the new owner came in and ''rest'' all the employees vacation time to zero. Is that legal? Can a new owner of a company come in and essentially wipe out 25 years of service?

It depends on whether the company was sold, or was a new company established to hire the employees of the old company.

Documents furnished to the employees would need to be reviewed to address this issue.
