Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

power of attorney for deceased sibling with no will

I am one of 4 surviving siblings. My brother died without a will. He did leave me his insurance policy, he has a house that he was purchasing. How can I obtain power of attorney?

A Power of Attorney can only be granted by a person who is alive. To take charge of the obligatins of the estate, you must file a probate action in the county where the decedant lived and seek appointment as the personal representative of the estate.
