Legal Question in Workers Comp in Minnesota

Attorneys fees

How much can a lawyer receive in compensation? In this case he has received far above the proposed settlement amount and the case hasen't even been settled yet. But according to the last letter the attorney will receive yet another 20% plustaxable costs and disburements above and beyond the lump sum. Can you tell an attorney he has already been adequately compensated. Also what happens when a client does not sign for lump sum payments, lawyers fees removed of course?

Re: Attorneys fees

Typically, lawyers get paid 25% of the first $4,000 they get for you and 20% of anything after that. However, we also get paid if we get your medical bills paid or your QRC paid. Those fees do not come out of your benefits. So, it is hard to tell if it is a fair fee. When he files a statement of attorney fees, you will normally see a statement saying the hours he has put in on your case.
