Legal Question in Workers Comp in Minnesota

disability compensation

the situation is that my father was a manager at a chain restaurant. last month, he suddenly lost his version at work and later i know the reason is that his hypertension and eye pressure suddenly went up at that time. i took him to the hospital second day, but the doctors said that was too late. since he is basically blind, his company stopped paying him immediately. i reached the company's human resource department, but they only offered the extension of the health insurance which called the cobra. also, my mother worked at the same restaurent with my father. but, after my father lost the job, the district manager dismissed my mother also. the district manager simply said ''we have the enough employees, so we don't need you.'' but, i guess they just want to cut any connection with us, so we won't come back to ask for any compensation. right now, my parents is dsiable and my monther is unemployed. we also have huge mediacl expenses and other payements have to pay. i just think everything my father's company did to us was so unfair, but i am sure if they did were againest law. right now my question are that if my fahther's situation qualify for the worker compensation, and are there any benefits he can also get since he is disable.

Re: disability compensation

I cannot tell if there is a work comp claim. There needs to be an opinion from a doctor that his work activity substantially caused or aggravated his condition so that it caused his current complaints. He should apply for social security, however. IF he loses initially, he should appeal and should get a lawyer to do that.
