Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
my son is 19 and at college. He received a Minor in Consumtion charge last night. He was with a friend who bought some alcohol with a fake id. Hios friend was arrested. When my son was asked if he had been drinking, my son admitted to haveing 2 shots. They gave him a ticket and a court date. This is his first time ever getting in trouble. Is there a way to plea this down as he has a ROTC scholarship and this MIP will casue him to loose it.

Yes, in most cases an attorney will be able to negotiate a plea bargain that will avoid a conviction. Your son needs to hire an attorney.
