Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Health Insurance Coverage on Minor Child

My cousin's x-husband stopped health insurance on their minor daughter (age 17) without her knowledge. Now, who is responsible for medical bills? He was ordered to continue health insurance in the Divorce Degree. Why would anyone do this? He did not have anything to gain, he has a family with family coverage, he did not save anything by dropping one child. He only did this to cause pain and suffering. I believe he should be the one now to pay, he should be responsible for this bills, right?

Re: Health Insurance Coverage on Minor Child

If the father was Ordered to maintain the health insurance coverage for the minor child and was able to do so but chose not to do so, then the mother can take him back to court on a Motion for Contempt. Many Judges will enter an Order requiring the father to pay any expenses incurred together with attorney's fees and costs.
