juvenile name change
(To change the last name of a juvenile.) Although the biological father was never legally established, he really is her father. For a step parent adoption, doesn't the biological father have to agree? I thought if he was served with papers with the intent to change her name, and given the chance to object, we could proceed as long as one parent agreed.

Perhaps there is an attorney who does adoptions all of the time who can answer all of your questions. Personally, I would need to do at least some legal research before I would be competent to provide you any specific advice. When you had a child out of wedlock, a set of facts was created which led to various consequences concerning the legal status, and the legal rights of the various parties involved in that child's life.
