Legal Question in Workers Comp in Missouri

Tarsal Tunnel

I had been working in retail for 1 1/2 years now, and about 2 months ago experienced pain in my heels, went to a podiatrist and diagnosed with plantar faciitis. received injections and second visit was told that I may have tarsal tunnel, went to have test yesterday and that is what I have. Do I let my employer know now? I have not reported this as a work injury as of yet.

Re: Tarsal Tunnel

My understanding is that this topic has been litigated a great deal and the law is a little unclear at the present time. Therefore, no one can guarantee you that you have a valid claim under the worker's compensation statute which would result in you receiving a settlement or other

recovery of compensation. Does your doctor say that you will require surgery for this condition? If so, then the damage may be substantial enough to justify signing up with an attorney and taking your chances. If your condition is not that serious, then it is unlikely that an attorney would invest the time and effort needed to obtain a fair settlement or other recovery for you. I would warn you that there is a statute of limitations which will prevent you from filing your claim, if you have one, unless you do so within the time required by law. If you do not have an attorney, I would be happy to speak with you at any time.
