Legal Question in Consumer Law in Nevada

Consumer Question

I entered into a contract for a custom made wall unit. 10% deposit after approving plan, 40% prior to installation, 50% upon completion of installation. I paid the 50% down with a credit card and explained to the salesman that I planned to use this card for the wall unit because I got a 15 month free interest credit card with this express purpose in mind. Upon completion, the company says they no longer accept credit cards and I must pay the remainder in CASH. The contract indicates NO terms other than when partial payments are due. I have thus far refused to pay the remainder in cash as I believe this to be bait and switch tactics of sort. Please advise. Thanks!

Re: Consumer Question

They don't have a right to demand cash after accepting a credit card but the issue is what do you do? If they stop working, then put the matter into contest. If they are not able to accept a credit card, you can tell them to sign up for PAYPAL and that should fix the problem.

Finally, if they totally stop and are unwilling to finish, except for cash, then you may have to sue to get them to finish and certainly, put the matter into contest with your credit card company.
