Can you help me with this problem
hi. Ive been having a problem for a while now. American Express called me and told me to pay my bill so i did. and they sent me to the collectors and collectors keep calling my house demanding i should pay and i tell them i already did and they tell me ''are you going to pay or not.'' I have the proof that i payed and ive faxed them the proof over but they continue to say i didnt pay. This has ruined my credit. not that long ago i tried going to buy a dining table and i was not allowed to because of this problem is there anyway you can help me?

It appears that the collection agency and American Express may have violated federal consumer protection statutes that provide you with protection. If you are interested in pursuing a claim against them, please let me know.
