Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

16:1 meeting with attorneys for Divorce case

My attorney is having a 16:1 meeting with my husbands attorney in regard to our family divorce case. What exactly am I to expect as an outcome from this meeting and what is customary?

Many thanks for you response and time.

Re: 16:1 meeting with attorneys for Divorce case

It is a mandatory meeting. The purpose of the meeting is for the attorneys to discuss settlement, or if settlement is not possible to discuss the discovery which each side will need to get the case ready for trial. Sometime after that the Plaintiff's attorney prepares a Joint Case Conference report. The report alerts the court that the case is not settled and that a trial needs to be scheduled. Thereafter, counsel for the parties can conduct discovery to prepare for trial.
