Power of attorney - Trust acct

My sis has a trust in her name from my father, Mom has power of attorney and the $ is used for moms living expenses. Sis is getting a divorce and ex is trying to take that $. Can mom do something to prevent it being involved in the divorce?

Mom and sis can do that because it is separate property and ex is not entitled to a thing. What does sis's divorce attorney say?
