Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Nevada

Harassed by HOA over vehicles

I live in an HOA and have several vehicles. Before I signed the first lease, I asked if there were parking restrictions and was told there were none.

Two of my vehicles leak oil, so I put oil drain pans down to protect the driveway. The HOA told me to remove them or pay a fine. Then I got a letter about the oil spots on the driveway. I bought a pressure washer and cleaned them, but not well enough, so I had to pay for a professional to pressure wash the spots and then he sprinkled gray powder over the stains. The powder got everywhere and even with a door matt the stuff would get tracked inside the house. To prevent future problems I moved the vehicles to the street. After more than six months with no problems Ive just signed another lease.

Now the HOA is trying to force me to move my vehicles back onto the driveway when all around me the other neighbors are parking in the street. The HOA letter states that I should fill the garage and driveway before parking in the street, yet there is no mention of this in the HOA rules. What can I do, it seems theres no pleasing these folks and it seems theyll do anything to get more money from me?

Re: Harassed by HOA over vehicles

Sell some of your vehicles. The rules you cite are quite common for HOAs like yours.
