Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada
Can my mother give me a power of attorney while she is abroad? She's not a US citizen and I am. Things would have to be done through the mail. She wants to purchase a property for her. I reside in Nevada. What's the process to do that? Would you help answer please?

A power of attorney is a very common way of allowing one person to act on behalf of another. I have never seen a country where the lawyers don't know how to prepare a power of attorney, so have your mother consult with an attorney where she is located. The power of attorney will have to be witnessed by a notary, magistrate, or other civil official. In Brunei, documents are witnessed by the Sultan. Cool!
