Re: Hot oil burn on face works fault

Clearly, this situation is covered by workers compensation. It does not matter whose fault it was, but if a worker is hurt on the job, then he gets certain types of benefits-medical payments, a fraction of any lost income, help finding a new job if necessary, and a payment for any permanent impairment. (Because of a recent change in the law, burn injuries are now considered impairments.)

Moreover, there may be other rights the victim can pursue. For example, if some third-party was responsible for keeping the premises safe, they might be liable for full payment of all harm caused by the fall. This could be much greater than worker's comp, and might include all lost income and a significant amount for pain and future disfigurement.

Definitely seek professional legal help soon to be sure you get all the benefits you are entitled to by law.
