Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

billing disagreement

Boatyard has my boat. They billed me for unauthorized services in addition to a very high unsubstantiated estimate fee. WHat are my options? My boat is there and they will not put it in the water until they are paid.

Re: billing disagreement

This kind of nonsense is a garden variety, every-day type of legal problem. An attorney would need to look at the contract, find out what the details are, and then give you some guidance.

If they are charging for items that they are not entitled to, and overcharging, then a sharp letter from a lawyer may do the trick. If not, then you take out the legal club and smack them on the head, so to speak. But you are not there yet, first you try to get this resolved with as little cost and grief to you as possible.

If you would like me to assist, please call my office. I am in Hackensack. A half hour consultation will be $75.00. You can then decide how you would like to proceed.
