Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Jersey

How do I get my money back from a friend?

How do I get money back that was owed to me from a friend? I co-signed on a loan for a friend and had to pay the entire loan off because it was on my credit when I tried to refinance my house. I know that this person works and is in the process of a law suit. Actually, he's suing me because of a car accident that I had and he was a passenger in my car. So, besides the loan that I had to pay off....he's got the nerve to be suing me for the accident.

What should I do? Pleeeease help.

What you need to do is assert a "counterclaim" for the money he owes. This way, you can litigate your claim for repayment whether he wins against you or not.
