Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

car repair nightmare!!!

I will try this again. I had my car towed to the dealer for repairs in May. Due to their lack of organization and frequent turnovers of staff & managers, they continued to tell me my repairs were not completed. After 3 + months, the new service mgr said he found my car, repairs were not made and stray parts were inside of the car. I was told they assumed it was an end of lease turn in- no one could find paperwork.

The repairs were finally made and my car delivered to me last week. I went to MVC to renew my expired registration and learned the dealership had taken the title out of my name. I have consistently made payments to the financing company during this entire period. I need to know what my rights are. I am so disgusted and fed up, I dont want the car back (there are still repairs that need to happen and parts missing). Can I make them keep the car and walk away? Do I have to bring suit against the dealership? Is their incompetence also fraudulent?

Re: car repair nightmare!!!

You need to examine your options with the help of a lawyer.

You can call me if you like.

There is another attorney who responds to LawGuru questions who does a lot of consumer fraud. Glen Chulsky, Esq. in Ledgewood. This website will not let me give you his phone number. I have spoken to him, and he seems like a decent and intelligent attorney.
