Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

Contract on new car signed but dealer stalling...

I have leased a new vehicle with a NJ dealer. The signed contract had the VIN of the car I was purchasing. They called me the next day to say that it had already been promised to another buyer and they will try to locate another car for me. I know I got a great deal that no other dealer was willing to match. I paid the cash due at signing (inception fees, first month payment etc). What are my legal rights if they do not locate another car?

The law is on your side expecially because a specific car was identified in the contract. If you act quickly, you may be able to compel them to lease the car to you or at least disclose why that has become impossible. Any way it plays out, you are entitled to the benefit of the bargain even if they made a bad deal for themselves.

If I can be of further help to you, call or email.

This may take some serious pushing from an attorney. It sounds like they do not like the deal that they gave you. If you have a contract that is enforceable, then you could sue them for whatever dollar value you lose when they weasel out of the deal.

Go see a lawyer near you, and see if you can enforce this.
