Need to know penalty

I recently wrote two check to one grocery store that was bounced. I received a notice stating that I have to go to court for fraudelent writing bad check on purpose. I do have money in the bank. Will the court charge me an outrageous amount for the two checks. One was for $33 and the other is for $107. Please help. This is my first offensive.

The mere bouncing of a check has no criminal ramifications unless the check was given knowing it was a bad check with an intent to defraud the person to whom it was issued. Given the relativelt minor amounts involved, if the checks can be made good, there should not even be any criminal action involved.

Your biggest problem here is getting a criminal record. You could wind up paying fines of over $1000. I suggest you see an attorney ASAP.
