Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

My son who resides in North Carolina applies for credit services, but uses my address and home phone number here in New Jersey. He then defaults on them and now the collection companies are now sending me letters and calling me. I haven't talked to my son in over 4 years. I don't know where he lives nor do I know his phone number. He changes his address and phone numbers so he's not bothered by the collection agencies. Is there a legal recourse for myself. His name is the same as mine except that I am a Junior and he is the third.

There are a ton of resources online about how to deal with CA's and I suggest you read up on them. If you don't handle this the right way, you would wind up with a judgment against you. I would pull your credit report which you could do for free at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

and make sure that this is not impacting your credit
