Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

child custody

I really dont know where to start,

but about 2 1/2 years ago I went to

court with my ex for custody of our 2

children. I actually won primary

residential custody with him getting

visitation. Of course since then he

took them and has been keeping

them from me and brain washing

them into not wanting to come see

me. I have called the police

numerous times but noone will help

me! Now he wants to take them to

Texas (we live in NJ) so he is taking

me to court again. I dont know why

considering he doesnt listen to their

rulings anyway, he does what he

wants and gets away with it. I am

extremely nervous now about going

to court, all I want to do is see my

kids again, but I am scared that I

could lose because I havent seen

them in quite some time and he is

claiming that I abandoned them,

which I didnt, he keeps them from

me and noone will enforce the court

order. I dont think that I can afford

to get a lawyer to bring to court with

me (I didnt have one last time but

he did) I went to talk to a lawyer but

I dont have thousands of dollars to

pay. Now I think I might lose

because I cant afford to get someone

to help me but I am nervous to go

without one! HELP!!!

Re: child custody

Your story is kind of scary for an attorney to step in and assist you. What you describe is a very high-conflict custody fight. It does not make any sense for you to win custody and not be able to put him in jail if he does not return the kids to you. Your story does not make complete sense. And you have no money to pay an attorney.

I do know that no advice over this bulletin board can help you solve this mess. You need a smart, tough divorce lawyer, who will put a stop to this.

You need to hire (and pay) an attorney. I am sorry that I do not have anything more concrete to tell you. You have my best wishes.
