That depends on what you mean by "full custody". Are you saying you want full "legal custody" meaning you can make all decisions without any input from the father? Or do you mean you want to cut off all parenting time to the father? And what are you trying to accomplish? I would think, in light of all of the time the child spends with you, you are making all important decisions anyway. You need to think about what you are trying to accomplish and then move forward. In most cases, this will become very clear to you when you speak with an attorney.

Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, before you take any further action, you should contact a Family Law attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. I will be happy to assist you. Feel free to call me at 856-546-8010. If you mention LawGuru, there will be no charge for your first consultation.
