Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

DYFS placed my step daughter into the care and custody of my home with my husband. Thet never made us aware that the child was mentally disabled and had a history of sexual abuse from her mother. While the child was residing in my home she molested my the 8 year old. Now my child is afraid and isolated from the family so she needs therapy to assist her with coping from the situation she endured. Can I hold DYFS accountable for what happened to my child?
