A lawyer can advise his/her client to do anything he/she thinks is appropriate. If there is no court order that controls the situation, there is no impediment to doing or not doing almost anything. On the other hand, once the situation is presented to the Court, it may be reversed or other relief given based on what was done.

Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. Since it appears that you have not retained an attorney, you may want to contact an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice.Good luck! Rob Gleaner

Be very careful changing the locks on your spouse to lock him out. Go talk to a lawyer first.

Call me if you want me to assist. I do this kind of work, and I am not too far from you.
