H4 to H1 COS timeframe
I am currently on H4 visa. My H1B got approved this year. What is the general timeframe for COS approval. What is the earliest date I should apply for COS to make sure I can start working from Oct 1st 2009

The US Immigration Service has a great deal of work to do so in order for your paperwork to be processed in a timely manner.
With this in mind, you should put your papers in as soon as you can.
