Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

L2 to L1B conversion

Iam currently working in US on L2 visa with work permit. I have been asked by my company to change the visa from L2 to L1.

Can anyone pls tell me if it is necessary to go back to India for visa conversion. Or can it be converted being in U.S itself so that I don't have to travel back to India.

Prompt response would be really appreciated.

I would need more information regarding your particular case before I can comment on it properly.

However, the conversion can be done here in the US as long as your company can provide the necessary documents to the Immigration Service to explain why this change is necessary.
