Lockouts and keeping the tenant's property are unlawful in New Jersey. If the landlord wants you out, a court order is needed. You will have notice of a hearing and will have at least two weeks from the notice date before you can be evicted. As a practical matter, I will probably be longer. However, you should not expect to be able to hold over until the end of February if the landlord wants you out sooner.
