The process typically takes a minimum of three weeks, assuming everything goes exactly your way. As far as getting the tenants out and getting your rent money also, it is actually a two-step process. Landlord/tenant court in NJ only has authority to give a landlord a judgment for possession - not for money damages. In the event that you successfully evict the tenant, you would then have to bring a separate action to recover the unpaid rent.
