How do I stop vandalism

My ''tenant'' was recently given 2 weeks to vacate his room in my single family house for nonpayment. What rights to I have, how do I prevent the escalating vandalism and protect my family and belongings while he has free, and I do mean free reign of the house. The police do nothing at all. It seems they dont step in untill someone gets hurt.

Charge him with criminal mischief; he is damaging your property. Then ask the judge to make leaving your house a condition of bail. Take photographs of the damage to the police. He is a tenant you must serve him with a cease and desist letter, followed up with a notice of termination of his tenancy due to his misconduct.
