Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in New Jersey

Judgement Awarded but Process Never Served by Plaintiffs Attorney

I represented myself Pro Se as a defendant in a Contract Lawsuit for 50k. After wininng in non-binding arbitration the plaintiff's attorney added an additional defendant. This was approx one year ago.

The new defendant's attorney apparently negotiated a settlement and then failed to meet the terms.

The plaintiff's attorney had a judgement entered against the new defendant and ME without any communication we me. I was completely out of the loop and was not notified of court dates or anything else. I never even saw the settlement agreement or judgement until they hired a Pennsylvania attorney to file the judgement in the state where I live.

The plaintiff even added my father to the judgement , even though my father is retired, lives on the other side of the country and was never served any papers. Now we both have 50k judgements against us. The ''new'' defendant was a corporation that has since gone out of business, so I guess they are trying to get the money from us.

The plaintiff's attorney was fully aware that I was Pro Se and even ridiculed me for attempting to ''play lawyer.''

I do not know how to proceed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In order to have the judgment against you removed, you must contact a lawyer IMMEDIATELY. This is a very serious matter, and you must act quickly. It is is not something that you can deal with on your own.
