Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New Jersey

I used a O.B. doctor during pregnancy he wanted $4000.00 plus my insurance which I agreed, turned out that I used a different doctor for my delivery I paid him the same price now the first doctor who didn't deliver my baby claims I owe him 4000.00? what's the law do I have to pay him and how much?
