Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey

what to do for simple assault

My boyfriend got into a fight that got out of control where I bit him to get him off of me and he hit me in the mouth. We both were charged with simple assault but we did not press the charges on each other. we have to go to court tomorrow and we just need advice on how to make these charges be dismissed. We resolved what had happened, it was a first time thing. we made an appointment for family therapy. we do have a child together. Nothing has ever happened in front of her ever. And this was a first time inncident after drinking a couple drinks at a BBQ.

Re: what to do for simple assault

I will decline to advise on how to drop the charges, I think you and he will be able to do so.

I am writing for another reason.

What you describe is bad, horrifying, seriously wrong. Please do get assistance. Despite having a child together, this incident shows some very very serious problems. Please do what is best for your child and then for yourself, in that order.

You have my sincere best wishes. I have seen far too many of this type of problem, and it always seems to repeat, and to get worse. I hope things go well for you.
