can one property owner sell the other persons right to that real property

I do not know of any circumstance where one property owner can sell anotherpersons interest in property without either a Court Order or Power of Attorney. Was it an arms length transaction and transfer pursuant to a contract?

Not without a power of attorney or some similar agency relationship.
