Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

parking ticket-arrest warrant

Ihave received a notice in the mail today, that there is a warrant for my arrest for contempt of court(failure to appear)for a parking ticket on a rental car dating back to 2004. I was not aware of the ticket and did not receive any previous summons for this offence prior to notice of warrant. Why didn't I receive a notice of licence suspention instead of warrant? What should I do? Is the warrant going to appear on my permanent record?

Re: parking ticket-arrest warrant

The simple answer to your question is to get an attorney to handle the case for you. I have had clients in your situation and you may have to post a bail first. Furthermore, you can be arrested if stopped by an officer. With my last client in this situation, I got the warrant removed first before I even got to court and then we dealt with the ticket which resulted in 0 points.

I don't see why something like is not possible in your case. I'd like to discuss the case with you in more detail before I can give you the odds of that happening. My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340.
