Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

My sister died and left me a small amount of money,,,i was named as the second beneficiary of her will...do I have the right to know just how much money, stocks and bonds and other money she had?

Probably not.

If your sister left you a cash legacy of a certain set amount of money, [e.g. $5,000]....once you are paid that cash legacy, you have no further interest in the estate and are not entitled to receive an estate accounting [since what you get is a fixed amount and does not depend on the gross value of the estate, or estate debts, expenses, fees, etc.].

You are entitled to a copy of the Last Will And Testament. You might be entitled to an inventory of the Estate, but if you were to get a flat dollar amount then you might not.
