Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in New York

Please, need help with Contempt Of Court issue

If in any New York State District Court proceeding a defendent is charged and

found guilty of 'contemt of court', for any actions OUTSIDE of the

courtroom itself, and an actual fine imposed on that defendent is more

than $1 or jail time is administered, is the defendent entitled to

an appeal of the entire case by a higher court?

Yes, as long as the defendant didn't give up that right to appeal as part of the plea and sentence bargain he received.
