Legal Question in Business Law in New York

I was allowed to work without being given notice of termination, now I may not b

I was employed by the state of ny as a per diem worker who would care for the mentally retarded. For some reason (a mistake I am finding out) my employment item was not updated, which means I was fired. I was never given notice of this and when a list of per diem employees was sent out to state facilities I was kept on it. I was recently called and told that I could no longer work and that It may be a long time before I can be paid, and that to be paid it would have to be approved by a special budget council in albany. The delay in me being payed is doing a great deal of harm to my life because my success in college depends on it. What should I do?

As a per diem, I am certainthat you had no union memebership.

Contact your two state legislators (Senate http://www.senate.state.ny.us/ & Assembly http://assembly.state.ny.us/ by phone to get them to assist you.

Good Luck
