Is it legal to install a hidden camera in my bedroom to monitor my child with the baby sitter

Yes. As long as it is in your room and it is there to monitor your child, and the nanny has no expectation of privacy there(in other words she doesn't have the right to sleep in your room or otherwise disrobe etc.)Then go head and snoop.

Yes. The only time there would be a question would be if you lived in someone else's house.
