Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Hello, I was contacted by a mediation firm representing a company who is trying to collect a debt from me. The debt they are saying I am being charged with is online Fraud from a pay loan company. The mediation firm says the company says they tried to contact me several times but I never received any communication from them or the mediation firm until yesterday. The mediation firm says if I don't respond to the debt and pay the restitution fee in 24 hours the case will be filed with my County Court and I will be picked up arrested / charged. I was told to send a money gram to the mediation firm to clear me of this debt. I am not disputing the debt however would like to know what rights I have. I have nothing in writing regarding this debt. How much time do I really have to pay ?

If you are not disputing the debt, deal with the debtor directly. Mediation firms do not handle collections.
