Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Hearsay child sex case

My cousin has been going back and

forth to court because his niece

accused him of having sex with her

for 4 years. she waited a few years

after she said he stopped to finally

tell someone. She has been known

as a liar in the family and very

persuasive. No one has any evidence

either way how can this turn out for

him? She has been left alone with

registered child pedophiles in the past

but all is falling on one person

because thats who she says did it.

how do you win a case like this? Is

there anything he should do? How

many people have to say that she is

lying before they believe him? Only 2

people believe her and that is her

mother, father, and her stepfather

doesnt even believe it. Her step-

father was accused by her father a

few years ago of molesting her but

when brought to the DA's attention

he says there is no record of this.

They lived in 2 different counties

could he have mixed up the counties

and asked the wrong one?

Your question is not really clear about the criminal case status. That would help.

You ask: "How do you win a case like this?"

In my world, you hire a lawyer to review the case thoroughly and the lawyer does his or her best to win by reviewing every possible issue.
