Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

my mom and my wife and i share her car ,she never drives we drive her and pick her up when she wants to go out ,she told us to keep car at our house car she lives in buffalo parking laws.but long story short i take care of here do her laundry ,cleaning and pay her bills,my wife is sick with kidney failure and we are moving to fl to be near her family i have job and car waiting for us there,when we told my mom she got mad and called fl to speak to my inlaws tried to tell them not to give us car.when that didnt work she called and reported her car stolen ,i called her ten min asked her if she need car or anything tonight she said no stop by tomarrow ,five min later and the food store my wife and i where ripped out of car and arrested for stolen car.this was a lie,now my mom said she wants to resend it ,but this has cost me my job and car in fl now cause we cant move cause of court.just hurt and in shock what do i do ,also the cops said they would arrest us both and cps would pick up my kids unless i signed a confession and they wouyld let my wife go home so i did what i thought was best for my kids.thank you
