Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Name change

I am about to be legally divorced. Rather than reuse my maiden name, I would like to change my last name to my mother's maiden name. She raised me as a single parent and I have more ties to her than to my father, whose last name reflects my maiden name. Can I legally change my last name to my mother's maiden name as part of my divorce decree?
