Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Personal Property

I stored personal property at my parents home. They won't give it back to me. The value exceeds the amount I can sue for in small claims court.

Re: Personal Property

You can sue them in District court or Civil Court (if you live on Long Island then it is in District court if in NYC then Civil court) for conversion, you can also file a police complaint (not just a report, you have to ask they be arrested).

Good Luck.
