Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Re:misrepresentation by own attorney

My boyfriends attorney had him sign an agreement that he said stated that his ex-wife could not sell their house without him. His attorney is not returning his calls, did not give him a copy of it and she is now proceeding with a sale that will give him nothing (this is on Long Island). The last time he spoke to the attorney's office they stated that the paper was with the judge (I suggested that he go there but don't know if I am right). He is such a sweet man and I hate seeing him upset. What recourse, if any, does he have? Thank you.

Re: Re:misrepresentation by own attorney

Sounds like he needs to enjoin the sale. It also sounds as if he may have an action against his lawyer.

He should immediately seek legal counsel to stop the sale and recitfy the issues involved.

Good luck.
